Gay Marriage as a Global Innequality

Gay Marriage unlike other unknown global innequalities is one innequality that is well known among every citizen of every country and culture. The first thing to take into consideration and keep in mind when discussing Gay Marriage is that it is not about getting a certificate that allows the state to recognizes the love between two individuals. Not allowing Gay Marriage has to do with Control and Power. it does not matter if an individual gets married and he is gay but marries the opposite sex. what matters is that the benefits offered to Heterosexual individuals when married, does not apply to members of the same sex when married.

Marriage, The State, and Religion are socially constructed institutions that were set in place to have control of people. within these institutions there are rules, Gays could care less about the marriage certificate that tells the whole world who they are married to. the concern is that by not allowing Gays to marry, its denying the benefits that heteresexuals are able to enjoy such as work partner benefit privileges, visitations to the hospital if the partner is in a bad condition, or even being denied employment. this negativity on homosexuality has a history and Because of Mass advertisement on Anti-Gay negative propaganda in the 1950's and 1960's after and little before WWII. the exclusion of gays was a form of hate towards homosexuality. mass advertisements that depicted homosexuality as a disease or a disorder made it easy to dislike anyone who belonged to that community.

The effort to enforce heterosexuality to citizens in the United States made it clear that Homosexuality was not welcome. this is true for many cultures and nations. if we take some time to really think about the innequality that homosexuals live in we begin to understand why we think of homosexuality the way we do. Television commercials advertise to heteresexual couples, magazine adds, vacation trip adds and other forms of enforcing heterosexuality. another form of discrimination towards gays was the blue ribbon discharge, after the Blue ribbon discharge from WWII, Gays were not allowed to get jobs anywhere becasue they were dishonorably discharged due to their sexuality. unable to be welcomed with open arms from their family and community made it an innequality that forced homosexuality to be an emberrassment. the video titled "Boys Beware" was a major form of negativity that portrayed homosexuals as perverts, child molesters, and appear to have an illness.

This ties in to the previous topic of Gay Marriage because it is because of the History that we have that denies gay marriage to homosexuals today, since this sort history that depicts homosexuality as the undesired sexual orientation by heterosexuals, it has denied all sorts of benefits to Gays all over the world. Gay innequalities intersect with Colonizatiion as a forced tool for exterminating Homosexuality for no good reason. Gay Marriage and benefits to gays are not because of their sexual orientation but about having control over what certain individuals are able to have or not have. this is a Global Innequality because it forces one ideology to the whole world and that is heterosexuality and its norms and what is considered right and wrong.
